Mister Ambassador Viktor Ivanovitj Tatarintsev
I read in the newspaper about Russian families who moves to Dubai since they no longer want, or dare, to live in Russia. One woman expresses her gratitude that they moved in time, before her husband could get drafted to the war in Ukraine. In Dubai you don´t need to hear about the war since nobody talks of war. She also adds that it is sad that many people die in Ukraine, but that is something she avoids thinking of
Tell me, Mr. Ambassador, hasn't President Putin's regime failed to raise loyal citizens when they travel to Dubai instead of staying at home when the country needs them? It does not bode well for the future if everyone who has the opportunity leaves the country. It must be twice as hard for those who stay. And a soldier can only die once for the nation, new soldiers will be needed to continue the war.
Then I just want to clarify one thing. I have protested 44 times with the same placard in the same place outside the embassy. Of course, I have come to recognize some of the people moving in and out of the embassy, but I don´t know their names. It is true that I sometimes make notes in a notebook, but it is to remember this that I can use in my letters to you, Mister Ambassador. I most certainly don´t keep a record of your activities, so you don´t need to call the police again.
But as I have written earlier, if President Putin ends the war and the troops return to Russia, I will stop my protest immediately.
Я протестую против военной спецоперации России в Украине
I protest the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine.
Respectfully
A Concerned Citizen
